Hey there! My name is Lexi and I’m glad your here. It’s about time I start a blog! I wanted a place to share information with others because I talk to so many people everyday who have gone through similar health declines, they’re looking for recommendations on going plant based, or they have other interests in common with me. My hope for this blog is to inspire you to look deeper into the things I touch on.
If you don’t know me, I am very passionate about health and wellness. I have three small children which is the reason I started on my health journey. I became chronically ill about 12 years ago, but according to muscle testing my health began declining at age 10. I was continuously left with no answers until my diagnosis’s began piling up. These consisted of things like multiple autoimmune conditions, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), MRI gadolinium toxicity illness, food allergies, asthma, mold illness, vertigo, IBS, mononucleosis, Epstein Barr, Guillain-barre’ syndrome, rhinitis, chronic sinusitis, migraines, anorexia nervosa, traumatic brain injuries, and there’s still more, but I think you get the idea. I always seemed to be that “special case.” No one knew what to do to help me, and everything I tried only ever made me worse. I felt like I was my last hope of ever getting to live a healthy life.
I began researching my conditions and ways to ease symptoms when I became very intrigued by the functional medicine world. At the start of my healing journey I really didn’t even know where to start. I read all I could about the different functions of the body and how it all worked together. Once I got a basis for how all of my autoimmune conditions tied together I felt confident in reading the literature in depth in specialty fields that corresponded with the areas of my body that were most affected. I then began skimming through protocols and ways others had healed from different kinds of chronic disease, and I’d dig further into research on the things each of them would touch on that I felt could benefit me. I’d read through studies, listen to podcasts, and listen to summits from doctors all around the world, and still do. I combined their ideas and some of my own to come up with a plan that ended up working for me. This was no smooth ride. There was a lot of trial and error which guided the way.
I have successfully put four autoimmune conditions into remission and haven’t experienced much in the way of symptoms in years. My biggest accomplishment is that I have been able to go off of my thyroid medication for hashimotos thyroiditis that I’d been on for twelve years. I live a vibrantly healthy life and rarely experience symptoms of any kind. My quality of life is incredible and I’m so proud to say I’ve done this all on my own. The end goal seemed daunting for so many years and now it’s just a thing in the past.
I am not a doctor so I cannot give medical advice nor advise you do any of the techniques I used. Im just a girl who decided she wanted to take her health back, and to not feel restricted by a handful of pills daily to determine my fate. I didn’t want limitations or to be unable to keep up with my family. What worked for my body may not work for yours. We are all different. We have different DNA, different environmental exposures, and different genetic expression, but we all have the power to heal. I believe empowering ourselves through education so that we know how to sustain good health for our own bodies is critical. The mind is an incredibly powerful tool and not to be neglected in any healing process! If I can do it, so can you!
